a place to belong

Thanks for visiting First Ozark United Methodist Church! Our mission is to be an obedient community of faith--believing, praising, and loving God as revealed in Jesus Christ--as we respect, encourage, and serve our neighbors.

Founded in 1852, First Ozark continues to work toward celebrating all people in our society and committing ourselves to the rights of men, women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. We invite you to explore what we have to offer, and we hope you visit us soon!

First Ozark Services and Meetings Postponed

Based on the recommendation of our bishop and the continuing spread of the corona virus in our community and the surrounding area, First Ozark United Methodist Church will discontinue in-person worship, Sunday School, board, committee, and council meetings effective immediately. The Executive Committee will review the situation again when we and other United Methodist churches receive additional guidance from Bishop Graves and the cabinet. Although we will not have in-person worship, we hope you will continue to worship with us each Sunday at 11:00 a.m. either on Facebook Live or on 104.9 FM.

TOP FLOOR YOUTH Flag Fundraiser

Top Floor Youth greatly appreciates all who purchased memorial and honorary flags. Your generosity is very kind and does not go unnoticed. We hope you have had a chance to see the flags lining the wall of the Meditation Garden on the Broad Street side of the church. An insert of those memorialized and honored, and by whom, is posted below.

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP THOSE WHO ARE KEEPING US SAFE DURING THIS TIME?

If you are interested in making masks for healthcare workers and patients and have the ability to sew, you can follow the video tutorial or PDFs linked below and bring them by the church drop box (located outside of the office) and they will be distributed appropriately.

Gifts, Offering, and Tithing Options

Steps to take for turning in tithes and offering during office closure:

1) It can be mailed to the church.

167 E Broad Street

Ozark, AL 36360

2) It can be dropped in one of the collection plate locations before or after service once we return to in-person worship.

3) You can give online through the Alabama-West Florida Conference (AWFC) here. One hundred percent of your tithes and offerings will come back to our church. Carefully fill out the necessary and required information such as church name, pastor name, district, etc. in order for the conference to send the funds back to the correct, respective church.
